"...the most sensational Inspirational Celebrational Muppetational This is what we call the Muppet Show!" Yes, I only quote top 40 lyrics. Was lucky enough to get offered tickets for my oldest daughter's show tonight. He first on stage professional job as she is one of the children in Joseph and his Dreamcoat. Tix for this show are normally near $100 after taxes. It is a dinner theatre, but it is still the most expensive show my kids have made me come to see. Were it not for the freebies, I would likely be February before I would have gotten there. As such, my day gets thrown off kilter as I scream home to feed the Doberman...and let me tell ya, he ain't impressed to be in the porch again after I got home. He gave me that wtf look as [Read more...]
It is just after 6am and it is frakking cold. Is frak a word? It should be by now. Seems every NBC show is trying to use it to garner success from Galactica. I suspect Big Bang Theory should have used it by now, but it isn't NBC, so they may choose "Nanoo nanoo" instead. After reading the recent report on a Republican declaring that President Obama doesn't use the word "God" enough in his speeches to the US...well, I'm sure frak is a word he isn't using enough of either. Just a quickie, this morning. Two more days of Fido and Fifi...then my new prose story will begin.
Funny...I post one of my most erotic posts, so far (see my one earlier today called Cold Fire if you're interested) and no one has read it...and by 'no one' I mean only four when I'm writing this one. Just proving to me how timing is everything and how posting something at 9:30-ish AM EST doesn't get the volume that something I post at 6:30 or 7pm EST does. EST...hmmm...Eastern Standard Time...Early Sex Today...I like the latter better. Sitting listening to Pink Floyd doing a live version of Take it Back...wonderful song about how we have too much ego to apologize for our errors after the fact. How we all fuck up and move on and forget that, sometimes, we need to look back and say we made that error before someone else we may [Read more...]
You know what the chain of command is? It's the chain I go get and beat you with until you understand who's in ruttin' command here. - Jayne Cobb, Firefly ...The combatants moved about the suspended deck like a dance. The grey walls hum with the surrounding machinery creating the surrounding air. The blue clad Operative held out his sword while the captain defended himself with a screw driver. This scene I am describing is one of the final shots from the film Serenity. Originally, this post was going to be a deposition of my thoughts on the character of Jayne Cobb...after about 500 words tapped out on my mobile, it evolved into something I didn't expect. The film Serenity...the big screen version of Joss Whedon's television series [Read more...]
Boots are just the beginning of fantasy. Well, women's boots...a friend mentioned how she is wearing new black boots this morning and, as in my lot, my thoughts are drooling again. I must discuss the correct usage of boots. First off, worn properly...the higher the better. Mid-calf is the absolute minimum or they do not count in this discussion. Next, once they are covered in snow and muck...useless to me. They lose their appeal. Yes, their main purpose is usually warmth...however, I propose, and perhaps much more important, that good as they look on a goddess walking along the street hailing a cab...they look much better wrapped around the naked hips of a partner while the goddess enjoys the hobble-de-ga-ga. Now, on a more serious [Read more...]
I am steaming mad. Have a few minutes to cool off whilst my kids are busy decorating the tree with grandma, so will blow it off here. As some who read this are aware, my oldest daughter got her first job on stage doing a professional theatre show of Joseph and his Dreamcoat. With this mixed up weekend, I had the opportunity to drop her off and pick her up from the matinee they did this afternoon. First time I have done both for a single show. As my youngest and I returned to the theatre, we sat and talked for about ten minutes before heading inside. She mentioned to me how she was excited to go and see her sister's show again on her (my youngest's) upcoming birthday next week...she and her mother had already gone on opening night. It was [Read more...]
It would seem that CO2 is a red herring and yet people still swear by it. It is odd that with the documents leaked showing that scientific stats were falsified have been ignored by many...and yet they claim the gossip released by Assange and WikiLeaks this week as 'truths'. The NY Times, for example, did not print the documents debunking CO2, yet did get on the WikiLeaks bandwagon. I guess truth is dependent upon which side you choose. Which pill you take...the red pill or the blue pill. It is a red day on green street when people see scientists debunking scientists as more questionable than a convicted felon debunking national details and secrets. With both situations, we have to find out what the real problems are and work at those. [Read more...]
I'm sick. I haven't even logged in anywhere since first thing this morning...even this blog entry is coming off my Blackberry. A day of Nyquil, NFL Head Coach 2009 for PS3 (am I the only one who likes that game better than Madden?), and occasionally running out the door so the Doberman can do his business. *ah choo!* Anyhow, luckily, I am sitting with a goddess who is kindly taking care of me. No grapes are being peeled, mind you...but we're munching on popcorn and watching the newest Disney version of Alice in Wonderland. One of life's great truths is brought up early in this film...all the greatest people have gone round the bend. I am pleased to think I'm long round it and long gone to never come back. The twin girls with the [Read more...]
